Novelly is creating youth-driven spaces for courageous conversations.

Today, Novelly announced the release of the latest version of their no-cost ed-tech app. With learning remaining largely online this fall due to COVID closures, the new version of their app features a facilitator-specific view, which includes the ability to create assignments and access student learning data via a Google classroom integration. Along with their library of social justice-themed reading collections, the new app also includes a journaling feature to engage students with critical thinking and writing skills as well as a new, robust selection of youth-written articles and stories.

The app is 100% free to use for educators, parents, and students to ensure its accessibility to those learning from home. It’s flexible so that students can learn on their own or within the context of an adult-led workshop or a student-led chapter.

“As one of our students put it, ‘2020 has been A LOT.’ We agree. We need creative ways for young people to not only keep learning, but to also process issues brought to the forefront during this pandemic, such as racism and inequality,” said Anna Casalme, Founder and CEO of Novelly.

The Novelly app is available now to download for free on both Google Play and the IOS app store. Additionally, Novelly is also offering parents and educators a free Facilitator Discussion Guide to accompany the app when they join Novelly’s monthly newsletter. This guide will assist those who are leading a conversation with young people about reading, engaging with, and discussing social issues virtually.
